What Are Car Badges Made Of?

    Quick answer

OEM badges vs custom: how chrome, matte black, and gold badges are manufactured. UV-stable, waterproof, and weather-tested.

    OEM Factory Badges

Most factory badges are ABS plastic with chrome plating applied over a base of nickel. They're injection-molded in large quantities, minimum runs of 300+, which is why you can't order custom from the OEM.

Our badges are made from high-impact ABS with a vacuum-metallized chrome finish (chrome option) or powder-coated matte black or gold. The result: OEM-quality appearance at 1/10th the custom quantity requirement.
