Why a badge instead of a decal

Most company vehicles are branded with printed vinyl, which works well for large graphics and phone numbers. Where vinyl struggles is the small, permanent mark that says this is a real company: a logo on the tailgate, a company name on the rear door, a service division label on a fender. Flat printed film in those spots fades in the sun and starts lifting at the corners, and a peeling logo on a work truck tells a customer something you did not intend.

A dimensional badge sits proud of the panel, catches light and reads as part of the vehicle. It survives pressure washing, brush washes and years of outdoor parking without fading, because the finish is not printed ink. On a fleet that gets seen every day by customers, that difference compounds.

    Logo vectorization

Send whatever logo file you have. A high resolution vector file is ideal, but a screenshot from your website, a photo of a business card or an old print file all work. We redraw the mark as clean vector artwork sized for badge production, keeping proportions and letterforms faithful to your brand.

During that step we flag anything that will not survive the jump to physical form. Hairline strokes, gradients, drop shadows and very small tagline text lose definition at badge scale. We will propose a simplified production version, show you both, and let you decide. Nothing is manufactured until you have approved a render of the actual badge.

    Matching brand colors

Our metal badge colors cover mirror chrome, matte black and gold, which handle the majority of corporate marks cleanly. For brands built around a specific color, our acrylic badge colors give you a much wider palette and can be matched against common vinyl and paint references, which is useful when the badge needs to sit alongside an existing wrap.

If your brand guidelines specify exact color references, send them with your enquiry and we will tell you honestly how close we can get before you commit to a run.

    Typical fleet applications

    • Company logo badges on tailgates, rear doors and liftgates.
    • Company name badges on van sides and truck bedsides.
    • Unit or vehicle number badges for internal fleet tracking.
    • Division or service line badges on a mixed fleet.
    • Dealer and reseller badges applied before customer handover.
    • Contractor and trade badges on personal vehicles used for work.

    Bulk pricing and lead times

Artwork and setup are done once, so per badge pricing improves as the quantity rises. Tell us how many vehicles you are branding and how many badges each one needs, and we will quote that tier along with the next tier up so you can see whether ordering spares makes sense. Fleets grow and vehicles get replaced, so most operators add a small buffer to the first run rather than paying setup twice.

Standard production is 3-5 business days after approval, with larger runs quoted individually. Quotes cover production and delivery to a single address, or to multiple depots if your vehicles are spread across sites.

Mounting on leased and rotating vehicles

Fleet vehicles are frequently leased, which makes permanent modification a problem. Automotive grade 3M adhesive removes cleanly with heat and fishing line and leaves no mark on factory paint, so it is safe on a lease when removal is done properly at turn in.

Every badge mounts with genuine 3M Automotive Adhesive, the same system automakers use for factory emblems. Nothing is drilled, and on sound factory paint a badge comes off cleanly with heat and adhesive remover when a unit rotates out of the fleet. Tell us your vehicle mix and we will recommend the right size and placement for each unit.
